The effectiveness of this protein complex, dipalmitoyl hydroxyproline, was demonstrated in vitro on a normal human fibroblast model. The cells were aged superficially by UVA irradiation, and the anti-aging effect of this complex was assessed by determination of procollagen synthesis and laminins synthesis. It was concluded that the complex stimulates the natural anti-aging defenses of a cell by more than 46%.
